REGION ENTRY FORM: Please submit the VHSL Region Entry Form to Stuart Gibbs by Saturday, November 2nd. It can be emailed (sgibbs@bedford.k12.va.us) or mailed (Stuart Gibbs, 1 Cavalier Circle, Forest, VA 24551).
TIME SCHEDULE:
12:00 PM -- Course Opens
1:30 PM -- Coaches Meeting at Start Line Area
2:00 PM -- Varsity girls (7 runners)
2:40 PM -- Varsity boys (7 runners)
3:15 (after awards) - Untimed Open Race
AWARDS: At the conclusion of the last race at the start line area. Team Champion and Runner up will be awarded a trophy. Top 15 finishers will be All Region and receive a medal
START FIELD MAP/TEAM TENTS: Please see the following map of the Starting Line Area.
ADMISSION: Admission will be charged according to Region policy. The cost of admission will be $8.00. Tickets will be CASHLESS. Tickets available through GOFAN. VHSL, VHSCA, VASSP, NASSP, VIAAA, and VHSL Principals Passes will be honored for the bearer only. Tickets will be checked upon entry to the parking lot. GoFan Ticket Link
UNIFORMS: NFHS Uniform Policy
SHIRTS: Short sleeve t-shirts will be available to purchase for $20. These will be very limited. The shirt design is pictured here.
TRASH: Please use trash bags provided and leave by trash can
PARKING: Bus parking and handicap parking will be along Poplar Forest Parkway. Spectator parking is 1/4 of a mile from the start line area. Parking Map
ENTRIES: Top seven (7) runners will compete in the race. All entries must be entered on Milestat. All entries must be entered by 10/27 at midnight. Please double check entries for spelling, as names will be used on the region championship shirts.
BOX ASSIGNMENTS: Box assignments are done alphabetically. Boxes are numbered 1-15 with box one being on the far left of the start line and box fifteen on the far rights of the start line. Box Assignments Link.
ADVANCEMENT: The top 3 teams at the region championship race advance to the state championship. The top 5 individuals, exclusive of team scoring/advancement, advance to the state championship.
TIMING & SCORING: Chip timing and scoring will be used through Blue Ridge Timing
DRESS: No dressing room, dress at home. Portable restrooms are onsite for use.
STATE ENTRY FORMS: Please be reminded to leave the VHSL state entry forms with Jeremy Sink or Stuart Gibbs.
DIRECTIONS: GPS use 687 Poplar Forest Drive, Forest, VA 24551. Do not use the Enterprise Drive entrance of Poplar Forest as it will be closed for the race. Directions to Poplar Forest.
COURSE MAP: Per the request of Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, the course is not open for previews until race day. Poplar Forest is gracious to host our event, so please follow their rules and do not access the course before race day.
