James River Invitational
October 12, 2024
Come join us for the 1st James River XC Invitational that will be held at Gracely Hill in Buchanan, Virginia. Gracely Hill is nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and home to the award winning Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival. This is conveniently located 30 minutes from Lexington and Roanoke, Va. with picturesque, 360 degree mountain views. This course is spectator friendly, multiple clean bathroom houses, concessions and a large parking area. All of this at a low entry fee.
Registration Deadline: Please have your teams registered by Monday, October 7, by noon to help our timer.

Timing
This meet will be timed by Run Roanoke.
Scoring and Uniforms
We will follow the NFHS Rules Book for Scoring and Uniforms. See the NFHS T&F/XC rules book if you need. Spikes are recommended for this course.
Awards
Awards will be given to Teams and individuals immediately following each set of races.
Awards will be given to the Top 15 finishers in the Varsity races, top 5 in the JV races,
Top 15 in each Middle School Race.
Team Trophy will be awarded to Champion team in each Varsity race and Champion team in each middle school race.
Sanctioning
This meet is sanctioned.
Entry Fees
Middle School
$50 per gender for Middle school teams ($75 for both)
$10 per individual if less than five runners
High School
$75 per gender for High school teams ($150 for both)
$10 per individual if less than 5 runners
$5 for Elementary School Runners

All entries will be done through milestat.com with the exception of Elementary runners

Custom Race tees will be screen printed and sold at the meet.

Restrooms will be available on site
Team Area
Teams will have a designated area. We ask that everyone be respectful of our host site and clean up after ourselves when we leave (trash bags will be provided).
Athletic Trainer
We will have an athletic trainer on site.
Water Coolers will be available for athletes before and after the race.
