Welcome, we hope you consider this fun, fast kick-off event
to launch your 2024 Cross-Country Season at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville,
Virginia. This is an early season meet for Virginia schools looking for
a fast and shorter race before the season fully gets under way. This is a great
way to break up summer training and test your athlete's fitness levels. We will
run the same 2K course (two loops) used for the 2023/24 USATF Cross Country
Championships.
Awards: The top 15 finishers in each race will earn medals.
Top 3
Teams for high school varsity and JV will earn trophies.
Schedule
5:00 pm - Middle School Boys
5:30 pm -Middle School Girls
6:00 - JV Boys
6:30 - JV Girls
7:00 -Varsity Boys
7:30 - Varsity Girls
Divisions:
High School Varsity (Girls/Boys)- 10 Runners per team
High School JV (Girls/Boys)- Unlimited Runners per team
Middle School (Girls/Boys)- Unlimited runners per gender (6-8 grade)
Middle School runners will compete as individuals. There will be NO team
scoring for middle school races.
This meet is VHSL-sanctioned for Virginia Member schools only. No
other states will be allowed to run in the sanctioned portion of the meet. If

Sanctioning:
This meet will be VHSL sanctioned for Virginia schools only. NOTICE TO VIRGINIA MEMBER SCHOOLS. You are hereby notified that home-schooled athletes will be competing in the high school division. If your school does not agree to allow home-schooled athletes to compete, please let the meet director know ASAP, rfirth@hcps.us
Individual Entries: High School coaches may enter individuals instead of full squads in this event.
Entry Fees:
High School Boys Team- $150.00
High School Girls Team- $150.00
Both High School Boys and Girls Team- $250.00
High School teams with less than 10 runners- $15 per athlete
Middle School Individuals- $20/runner up to $150 if you are coming as a team. Please
note we are not scoring the middle school races.

Course Description: The course is the same 2K loop course used for the USATF Championships. The course is
flat, fast and very spectator friendly.
