ENTRIES: Coaches should submit their qualified entries on the VHSL District entry form found in
the Principal's Workbook or online at www.vhsl.org. Entry form should be emailed to District
Director (Matt MacDonald) no later than Sunday, October 27th 2024 at 3:30pm (Email will be
considered Electronic signature). Entries also need to be submitted into www.milestat.com by
the same deadline.
Rosters: All Varsity teams in the Patriot District (8 Schools) may have a maximum of 12 runners
listed on the entry form with 10 running on the day of the race. All participants will wear
assigned numbers on the front of their singlet. The numbers, pins, chips and other official
materials will be distributed at the coaches meeting on race day. This will occur 40 minutes
prior to the first District Race.

DETERMINATION OF DISTRICT CHAMPIONS:
The District Champion will be determined by the team with the lowest score. The top 5 runners
will be scored based on their finishing position. The next two 2 runners will not score but
remain in the rankings. The last 3 runners will be removed from the rankings

AWARDS:
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONS: First, second and third will receive district medals.

TEAM CHAMPION: The team champion will receive a District championship plaque and
patches.
General Admission: There is no cost to attend, parking will be limited

GENERAL: All EVENTS are conducted under the NFHS Rules.
Regional Championship: This will take place on November 6th. Girls will go at 12:00pm, Boys
at 12:45pm. Awards at 4pm. All teams (Boys/Girls) from the Patriot and National District will
progress to the regional championships. The top 6 schools from the results at the National and
Patriot District Championships will be granted entry into the Occoquan Region Championship.
Each qualifying school will enter 10 members into each race in the regional tournament. Seven
out of the ten entries will be considered race participants with three alternates. Only those
team members entered on Milestat.com and VHSL entry form will be eligible for varsity regional
tournament competition. Each competing school must submit to the tournament director a
roster on VHSL Entry form by November 2nd, 2024. The entries must be submitted on
milestat.com by 11:59pm the same day. In addition to team qualifiers, anyone who places in the
top 15 in their district championship race will also qualify for the Occoquan Region
Championship.
State Championship: The top 3 teams in each regional race (girls and boys) will qualify for the
State Meet, plus the top 5 individuals not in the top 3 teams from each race (girls and boys) will
qualify for the State Meet. The 6A races will be held at Oatlands, specific race details to follow.

Appeals must be submitted by the Principal or their designee to the District Committee.
