2024 Battlefield District Cross Country Championships

Entries: All entries are to be submitted via Milestat. Entries open on 10/20/24. Enter only those athletes that will be racing. Entries Close at 10:00AM on 10/28/24. Enter only 7 athletes + 3 alternates in the Varsity race. Scratches and changes can be made on race day.
Timing: The race will be timed by SnapTiming using dual Chronotrack chips. Chips with corresponding athlete bib numbers will be distributed during the pre-race coaches meeting. Coaches shall return the Chronotrack Chips to the race timing company at the completion of the race. Coaches will be billed $20 for each chip that is not returned.
Parking: There will be no parking available at/near the start/finish area. All spectators will need to park either in the front of the school in the main parking lot or the side of the school in the student parking lot. There will be no spectator parking in the bus parking area, located near the football stadium. Please heed signage and direction of Spotsylvania High School staff.
Team Tents: Teams may set up their tents in the area designated for tents on the practice baseball and practice softball fields near the start line.
Course: The meet will be held on a fair cross country course that offers a blend of flat fields and rolling hills on grass, and limited gravel/dirt road surfaces. The course is marked on the ground with red arrows for the first mile, white for the second, and blue for the last 3.1 miles. The course will also be flagged appropriately and have course marshalls at key points. Course Map - Spotsy 24 District Meet 5K Map (This is the same course used in regular season meets with an exception for the finish line being slightly different).
Awards: The top five individual runners in each Varsity race will receive a medal and the top team in each Varsity race is awarded a team trophy.
Athletic Trainer: The Spotsylvania athletic trainer, Kirsten Brock will be on site to provide support to include ice bags, tapping and treatment for injuries. If multiple athletes will require tapping before the race, we ask that you please provide your own tape.
Facilities: Restrooms will be available at the football stadium, as well as at the baseball stadium. Water will be available at the finish line after each race.
Concessions: No Concessions will be sold
