This meet will be governed by Virginia High School League Rules
Entries: Each team will be allowed to enter 10 athletes (7 competitors and 3 alternates). Athletes not listed on the entry roster will NOT be eligible to compete. Only 7 athletes will be allowed to compete. Rosters will be confirmed by Meet Director
State Meet Advancement: Athletes from the top 3 Teams and top 5 individuals not on those teams will advance to the VHSL Region 5 State Cross Country Championships on November 8, 2025 at The Oatlands, Leesburg, VA

Bibs: All bibs must be worn on the front of your athlete's uniforms. Each bib will contain RFID chips and your athletes are encouraged NOT TO FOLD, CRUSH, OR WRINKLE the bib, as this could cause damage to the RFID chips(s).
Course Information: The course will close 15 minutes before the start of competition; NO ADDITIONAL COURSE WALK THROUGH WILL BE ALLOWED AT THIS TIME.
The course is a combination of grass, gravel, and hard-packed cinder & clay. The course will be very clearly marked. This 5000m course is spike-friendly and has a VERY WIDE OPEN START AND FINISH WITH EXCELLENT SPECTATOR VIEWS.
Region 5B Schools Responsibility: This is a REMINDER that each school will be asked to assist with the meet
Awards: The top 3 individuals will receive medals and team awards will be awarded to the top 2 teams
Schedule -
12:00 pm - Newport News Park Opens (Course Preview/Warm Up)
12:30 pm - Coaches Meeting
1:00 pm - Boys 5k Race
1:30 pm - Girls 5k Race
2:15 pm - Awards Presentation
Drop off Information: Buses will be allowed to drop off and pick up athletes in the Ft. Eustis Blvd. side of the park. BUSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARK AT NEWPORT NEWS PARK; ALL BUSES SHOULD PARK AT WOODSIDE HIGH SCHOOL.
