2. ENTER at GATE 6. Coming from M'Ville TNPK it is a right onto Carolina Ave. from Laburnum. Coming from 295/Meadowbridge it is a left on Carolina Ave. from Laburnum. There will be people to direct your bus to team area and back to parking area.

3. Course is well marked with flagging and paint lines. It is a serpentine 2500 meter course. Teams check in at tent/staging area prior to their race.

4. Please police your area--trash bags will be provided.

5. Next year we will move this event to the SportsQuest Campus where will have course wide video feeds, multiple viewing screens and a festival park with ampitheatre.

6. DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS GO BAREFOOT!!! It is a NASCAR parking lot--no more needs to be said.

As this is a unique format, please read through this packet carefully!!!!!!!!

The race has been capped at 60 teams. You are not officially entered until payment is received. Any teams not submitting payment by Thur. Sept. 9 will be dropped and wait list teams will be added.

The entry form is user friendly and takes just a couple of minutes to complete, please do it now & return it asap, payment can be submitted separately!!!!!!!.

COST

$175.00 made payable to Sportsquest. Because of the cost of this invitational (primarily lighting the entire course), teams need to submit payment up front.

RELAY RACE FORMAT

This relay format really promotes a fun/team oriented atmosphere. WE HAVE PERMANENT LIGHTS AND WILL ALSO BRING IN PORTABLE LIGHTING TO LIGHT OUR ENTIRE XC COURSE!!!!!

The race will be run on a course consisting of slight hills and grass and dirt trails. Each runner will run a 2500 meter loop. The course is quite spectator friendly.

Each school may enter a men=s & women=s A,B, & C team. The race is a 5 x 2500 meter relay. Each school enters teams of 5 runners. Each runner runs a 2500 meter leg and then hands off the baton to their teammate. Please designate top 5 runners as team A, #6-10 runners as team B, & #11-15 as team C. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOUR TOP RUNNERS ON YOURB OR C TEAM. WE WILL AWARD MEDALS TO THE TOP A, B, & C TEAM AND THEREFORE WANT FAIR COMPETITION IN EACH CATEGORY.

Anditional runners on your team can compete in the open 2500 meter Extras Race

EXTRAS RACE

This race is designed for High School runners who are not on one of your relay teams. There will be 3 mens sections and 2 womens sections. The extras race will run the same 2500 meter loop. Coaches must time their own runners. Medals will be given to the top 15 finishers in each race.

FASTEST LEG OF THE DAY

We thought it would be fun for the runners to see how their leg stacked up against the competition. We will have a desk near the finish area with a person recording the fastest team splits COACHES...... If you could record the name and fastest 2500 meter split time for your team it would be appreciated (please do this a few minutes after the A race). The male and female runners with the fastest split will receive a plaque at the awards ceremony.

ADMISSION, T-SHIRTS, FOOD, & RESTROOMS

Please tell parents that there will be a $5 admission fee for all adults. Port-a-jons will be available. Multiple vendors will have dinner available at the concession stand.

Glow in the dark T-shirts will be on sale at the race!

RACE BIB NUMBERS

The anchor leg runner on youre A, B, and C teams must wear a bib number. All B & C team runners will wear a distinct bib # so that spectators can differentiate between B and C runners. Extras runners DO NOT need a bib #.

The course is primarily grass/dirt trails and very flat and fast. Approximately 250 meters of the course will be run on a paved road. The course IS EXTREMELY WELL MARKED and will be available for runners to warm up on, just advise them to be aware of ongoing races.

AWARDS

We will award an overall mens and womens team champion based on team performance in all 3 relays. Points are awarded as follows:

1st place finish in a relay race = 5 pts

2nd place finish in a relay race = 4 pts

3rd place finish in a relay race = 3 pts

4th place finish in a relay race = 2 pts

5th place finish in a relay race = 1 pt

The highest possible team score will be 15 points (three 1stplace finishes).

Trophies will be awarded to the top Mens A and Womens A relay teams AND the top overall mens and womens teams.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning A,B, and C teams

Medals will be awarded to:

*All (A, B, and C) 1st 2nd& 3rd place relay teams.

*The top 15 Men and Women in each section of the Extras Race.

Plaques will be awarded to the male & female runners with the fastest splits.
