The Warriors of Nansemond River held on Saturday to make it a sweep of titles for defending champions.
Winning the most improved and breakout star of the season award is Maury's Junyce Hasberry. She wins this award thanks to her monstrous improvement in the 55m dash which led her to a victory in the 55m dash.
The top ten races to watch at the annual mega-meet with over 70 teams entered.
The 23 year drought is over thanks to Maury's Maeve Stiles. The Maury junior not only has led her team back to Great Meadow and States but also took home the Region 5A crown.

"Unbelievable. This is so exciting," exclaimed the senior, who maintained a level of reserve, realizing that she still had to compete in the 55-meter hurdles and high jump later in the day.
Robert Richard-Snipes is a graduated senior from Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia. Richard-Snipes was Maury's lone participant in this past June's AAA State Championships which he broke 50 seconds for only the second time in the open 400 meters and matched his personal best of 6'4" in the high jump. Richard-Snipes will compete next at the University of New Hampshire.

Churchland's Patrick Comstock and Maury's Amory Cervarich had landslide wins at the Eastern District Meet. Along with their individual titles, their teams won district titles as well.
