With one race left in his high school XC career Andrew is already in the Mt. Rushmore of the greatest ever. Just this past weekend he broke the Foot Locker South meet record even though they added nearly 70m to it! He ran a personal best of 14:20 at the Third Battle Invitational to set the overall state record. He was the 4A State Champion and also led his Viking teammates to their first XC State Team Title.
His next race will be in San Diego when he attempts to become Virginia's second Foot Locker Champion. Charles Alexander won the 1981 race and is one of only two South Region athletes to ever win the title. If Drew is not stopped this weekend he will be the third athlete from the South Region to win this illustrious title and the first in over 30 years.
