
No state record for the Westfield girls at Arcadia, but a first place finish was in the cards for the girls from Chantilly, VA on Friday evening in California as Tasia Potasinski pulled away from the Great Oak CA anchor leg in the final 200 meters for a 9:21.86 win. Westfield splits were Brittany Sevachko 2:19.4, Eman Bani 2:18.7, Melissa Divecchia 2:27.7 and Tasia Potasinski 2:16. Kerry Hartman was under the weather and did not run. Porter wins Gus Lacy 3200 in 9:18

Mountain View junior Thomas Porter won the loaded boys 3200 meter race at Gus Lacy in 9:18.33 with Ben Dejarnette of Atlee at 9:19.50 for second place and Joe Lorusso of Oakton at 9:22 for third place. It was quite a collection of the state's best on a windy day at FUMA including virtually all of the Virginia's best in the class of 2009 which will return next year with Western Albemarle's Kyle Satterwhite and Tyler Stutzman also in the race rounding out the top five under 9:40. ...
