The John Champe program is fairly young with the school only being a few years old, which freshmen Bethany Graham represents a new great history beginning in winning Wednesday's Conference 22 race in a time of 18:53. The time was a 19 second improvement from win on the same course last week at the Loudoun County Championships. Graham is certainly a rising star to watch over next few years in Loudoun County.
The Fauquier girls were able to edge out Freedom by 4 points for the team title with a top 5 average under 21 minutes and 6 runners among the top 15 places.
In the boys race, Fauquier's graduation losses prevented them from repeating as champ but Carson Fernandez carried his team's banner up front well winning the individual title in a strong time of 16:14 at Oatlands.
It was all pink jerseys after that though with the Freedom boys rocking the often feminine color for their singlets, yet manning up to take 7 of the top 12 places for a resounding team victory.
