Week #2 of MileStat.com's preseason XC practice tour takes us down to Virginia Beach to visit the Ocean Lakes team for a fartlek workout at Seashore Park. The Ocean Lakes cross country squad has been one of the most successful programs in the Eastern Region over the last decade and beyond under the guidance of Coach Mike Nestor. The Ocean Lakes program starts a new chapter with no Eastern Region anymore and in the 6A South Region, which includes adds in some of the former Central Region and Northwest Region schools to make their regional meet before the state meet more of a challenge and competitive.
The Ocean Lakes girls were 5th in last year's Group AAA state race and return their entire top 7 to have high hopes of competing for top 3 state meet podium spot in the new 6A classification.
