Christo Landry and David Groff Set to Join Tribe Next Season

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William & Mary head men's cross country and track and field coach Alex Gibby announced today that that two student-athletes, Christo Landry and David Groff, have signed letters of intent to run for the Tribe beginning next season.

"We're very excited to attract two young men of the academic and athletic caliber of Christo and David," said Gibby. "We feel Christo and David are among the top runners in the state and will contribute in a variety of areas to our program. Their futures are bright here at the College."

Landry hails from Falls Church, VA where he attends Thomas Jefferson High School. He finished fifth at this year's AAA state cross country meet after taking fourth at the meet in 2002. Running a 15:07 for 5,000m, Landry captured 10th at the 2003 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships South Regional. His personal records include 9:09.88 in the 3,2000m and 4:18 in the 1,600m.

Groff, from Centreville, VA, runs out of Westfield High School. He snared sixth at this season's AAA state cross country meet and was the Northern Region runner-up for the 800m. His personal records include 1:54.41 for 800m, 4:17 for 1,600m and 9:21 for 3,200m.
