#15: Western Branch Girls' Hurdles Relay
This year has been dominated by Western Branch's girls team. They won both state track titles and numerous national titles in between. Though they pride themselves on winning different events and dominating the state track meet, the real story this year was their shuttle hurdle relay team in outdoors. Indoors they won the title, not a huge surprise, but in outdoors they were primed for something special.
When they took the track down in Greensboro they knew what they were capable of doing and they went out to achieve that. 55.36 seconds later they had achieved just that by winning yet another shuttle hurdle relay title and a new national record! This record shattered their own national record by over a full second! This new record will be extremely hard to break, even for them, since it averages 13.84 for each leg.
The accolades of this team also speak for themselves. We will likely never see a team that has this many decorated stars on it for quite some time. Here are the legs on this relay team.
