Grant was seriously the G.O.A.T. this season. He won the national title in both the pentathlon and 60H and broke both the 55H and 60H national records in the same race. He also finished just shy of breaking the national record in the pentathlon but his performance finished US #2 all-time. Not bad for a first time in the event.

Weini has had quite the last four races. In those historic races from XC until now she has won the Foot Locker National XC Title, ran US #3 all-time in the 3K, broke the national indoor 5K record en route to a national title and then just 40 hours later came back and won the two mile national championship.
Whether it is her blistering opening pace or her grit to win at all costs you have to respect and be happy for how great Weini has become. She had a ton of competition for this award but winning two individual national titles and breaking a national record win her this award.
