5 Biggest and Baddest Rivalries in VA

#3 Western Branch's 4x400 vs Nansemond River's 4x400

Ok... so those rivalries are great and all but can they say they are the greatest ever? This one can. Just like with any rivalry, this one has gotten heated over the years. Sometimes it has gotten down right bad. But as both teams have somehow gotten even better things have changed.

It is natural to hate the start up if you're the dynasty and of course it is also natural to hate the dynasty if you're the start up but after years of success that hatred becomes mutual respect and pride in what a region (just 8 miles apart) can do.

These two relay teams are some of the best in the entire nation and the two best our state has ever seen. They went VA #1 (Western Branch - 3:38) and VA #2 (Nansemond River - 3:39) all-time last year at NBNO. This year it should be once again a battle for supremacy and that state record as the Branch battles back from injury just like Team War did a year ago.

Aside from being very talented and amazing at relays, both teams also get to share the status of constantly having a bulls eye on their back as they dominate both 5A and 6A.
