The Start

392 boys raced down the slight hill and began to chase the ATV as it headed straight down the course. The beginning 800m is nothing but straight, smooth, and downhill making for a nice quick opening half.
Notably getting a quick start was Cox' David Scherrer our preseason #15 returner.
After him it was a huge pack as the leaders were all spread out along the start line based on the alphabetical order of their team names. Slowly but surely in that first 800m the leaders found their way to the front. It was then just after a few left turns that they made a 180 and were headed back towards the start area and mile mark.
