
With her win at the Concorde District Championships last week at Burke Lake Park, Stephanie Bray proved two things about high school cross country: (1) anything can happen in championship season (2) upperclassmen girls can push through any plateu or down period in their performances to come out ontop at the end of high school. MileStat.com's Brandon Miles interviewed the James Robinson senior after her district victory.
MileStat.com: Heading into the district meet, how realistic did you think were your chances of winning?
Stephanie Bray: Honestly, I did not think I had a chance to win. The Concorde District has always been very competitive, and this year was no exception. Between Oakton and Herndon I was just hoping to get into the top five. Even an injured Hiruni is hard to beat. The weather was cool which was perfect because I run much better in the cooler weather.
