Not only is LV good, they are now the fastest team Virginia has ever seen. For the first time in VA history a team, Loudoun Valley, has their entire varsity lineup under the 16 minute barrier. Most teams would be happy with just one but Loudoun Valley is not settling this year and wanted their entire varsity squad under that mark.
The truly scary part of it though is that Connor Wells did not run this past weekend and owns a 16:09 best from last year. That means they could actually have eight guys or more under that barrier by the time Third Battle rolls around.
Reclaiming his top spot amongst his teammates this weekend was defending state champion Peter Morris who took home the county title in 15:10. Junior Sam Affolder took second with Bogucki third and Hunter fifth.
We're only halfway thru a long XC season but after this weekend Loudoun Valley has already cemented their spot in history. They are now the first team to ever put seven guys under 16 minutes in a single season, besting Chantilly's record of six and Valley did it in one race!
