The 4A girls state team race ended up featuring the best two teams in the entire state regardless of classification yesterday. Blacksburg has consistently been the #1 if not the #2 team in Virginia for what seems like the last dozen years it seems while other top programs have had up and down years remaining at the top. For the Loudoun Valley girls, this year is not just an up year...it is their best year ever for their program as they topped Blacksburg in 4A with a score of 36 points to 59 points. Their team average was clear ahead of any squad at either Great Meadow or Green Hill Park with a swift average of 18:38 for their top five scorers on the day. A team hopeful of qualifying together with their boys counterparts for Nike Cross Nationals in two weeks at NXN Southeast.
