Albemarle Invitational

October 10, 2009 @ Panorama Farms in Charlottesville, VA

 

 

Brief Summary:  Several close and exciting finishes to determine the individual race winners in Charlottesville including an incredible course record 18:02 performance by Ariel Karabinus of Osbourn Park as runner-up Katherine Walker of Brooke Point was also under the old course record in 18:13. James River's Ted Richardson and Fork Union's Josh Morris pushed each other all the way to the finish line with Richardson as the winner at 15:35 and Morris as a close second place finisher in 15:36. Despite not having their usual #3 and #5 runners, the Osbourn Park girls dominated the field by a 67 point margin and team average of 19:14 on the Panorama Farms 5K course. A huge shocker in the Stafford boys claiming the varsity boys team title and shaking up the entire pecking order in the Northwest Region.
