Grassfield's and Virginia's own Grant Holloway is now an Olympian. On Saturday, Grant cemented his name in history and also made his first Olympic team.
In 2019 Grant was the Bowerman award winner (Track's Heisman Trophy) and also would go on to win the World Athletics world title in the 110mH. Since then he has set the indoor world record for 60mH and been the best hurdler in the world.
Heading into Saturday, Grant had one thing missing from his trophy case and that was being able to say he was an Olympian. He would ultimately make the team easily in the final but his semi-final was the race to watch. In that race he ran a blazing 12.81 which was just .01 seconds off of the world record.
Grant now holds the 110mH world number one ranking and US Olympic Trials record.
