Post-State Meet Updated VA Power Rankings

Here are your updated individual and team power rankings following the state meet. 

Boys Top 10 Teams (CLICK TO SEE FULL LIST) 

The top three teams all took care of business at states and did not move. Charlottesville was the biggest mover moving up two places to sixth. Broadway pulled off the upset at Class 3 States and thus replaced Maggie Walker on the rankings list entering this week at 10th. 

Girls Top 10 Teams (CLICK TO SEE FULL LIST)

The team rankings remained very similar to their previous set nearly a month ago. Here we saw the four remain the same and just Ocean Lakes (8) and Abingdon (10) were new additions to the list. Glen Allen was the biggest mover moving up three spots to VA #5. 

Boys Top 15 Individuals (CLICK TO SEE FULL LIST)

Class 6 Champion Tristan Thurneysen (Chantilly) was one of  your biggest mover going from 9th to 2nd. Just behind him though on big moves was Class 5 Champion Thomas Rae (Riverside) who went from unranked to 8th. He joins Michael Tafe (Loudoun County), Greg Borden (Freedom), and Keyston Hartford (Grundy) as new additions to the rankings. The biggest mover on spaces though was Peyton Kenee (Spotswood) who moved up eight spots to VA #6 following his narrow second-place finish in Class 3 to Tristan Yoder. 

Girls Top 15 Individuals (CLICK TO SEE FULL LIST)

The girls power rankings was far less chaotic with just one new athlete, Samantha Nitzsche (William Monroe) joining the rankings. Interestingly enough she sits at #12 and entered the season at #11 in our pre-season rankings. Four girls moved up, five girls moved down, and five girls didn't move at all. The biggest mover up was Gainesville's Caroline Tribett who was the Class 6 runner-up.
