JMU Men Fifth in IC4A Championships

BRONX, N.Y. – Two James Madison runners placed in the top 20 as the Dukes finished fifth Saturday at the IC4A Men\'s Cross Country Championships in Van Cortlandt Park.

JMU sophomore C.W. Moran (Potomac Falls, Va./Potomac Falls) was 13th with a time of 25 minutes, 19 seconds over the five-mile course, and junior Allen Carr (Yorktown, Va./York) finished 16th in 25:22.

Penn State senior Chris Foster won the race with a time of 24:55. Casey Moriarty of Yale was second in 25:00, and Michael Hatch of Duke finished third in 25:01.

La Salle won the team title with 56 points and was followed by William and Mary (87), Duquesne (109), Penn State (132) and JMU (203). Twenty teams were entered in the competition.

Other top JMU finishers included senior Ted Herbert (Virginia Beach, Va./Cox), 33rd in 25:48, and freshman Teddy Stevenson (Hartford, Conn./William H. Hall), 62nd in 26:09. Freshman James Printz (Winchester, Va./James Wood) took 89th in 26:25, and junior Nick Noe (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) placed 95th in 26:28
