Cavaliers Compete at Penn Relays

Grant, Ferguson take home runner-up honors

Virginia\'s Billie Jo Grant and Tomika Ferguson both took home runner-up honors at the prestigious Penn Relays this weekend, held at Frankllin Field at the University of Pennsylvania. Grant finished second in the discus and sixth in the shot put, while Ferguson took home the silver in the triple jump. Erin Crawford won the bronze in the intermediate hurdles, while the women\'s 4x1500m team of Shannon Hawrylo, Emily Harrison, Janine Ricci, and Sara Ensrud finished just outside the medals with a fourth-place finish, coming in at 18:16.63.

Grant threw a 170 `6\" in the discus and a 46\' 7.25\" in the shot put to take home two top-six finishes on the weekend. Ferguson\'s 40\' 6.75\" was just 30 centimeters short of the eventual champion. She also took eighth overall in the long jump with her 5.59m.
