Wow. That is the only word that can describe this classification’s team title race. We at MileStat utilized both the virtual meet function and actually scored the performance list out and have projected that E. C. Glass will win the state title by a single point over Phoebus who will place second by a single point over Nansemond River. All three of these schools however have realistic shots at winning this title and each of these teams will pick their respective points in different fashions.

A final rankings list of the top 25 girls' performances in each event from this past 2012-2013 indoor track season. Links to full rankings are included as well as the state leaders in each event being highlighted. The Woodbridge girls 4x400 meter relay was one of many state leaders, who posted historically all-time great performances as their New Balance Nationals third place time of 3:47.94 ranks them #2 all-time in Virginia high school indoor state history.

In her first race of the indoor season, Heritage's Asonya Anderson sent some shockwaves through the Boo Williams Sportsplex facility as she broke 7 seconds in the 55 meter dash and defeated returning Group AAA state 55 meter dash champion Carolyn Brown of Phoebus in the process with a US #4 clocking of 6.97 at the final Peninsula District regular season meet. Her performance ties her for #8 all-time in Virginia high school indoor history.

The 13th annual Atlantic Coast Invitational was held on Saturday, June 25th at Lakeland High School in Suffolk. Top high school performances included a 21.97 clocking in the 200 meter dash from state champion Justin Burke of First Colonial, Matoaca freshmen Brianna Hayes clearing 5'6" in the high jump, Clover Hill's Janae Jones reaching out for a near personal best mark of 37'2.50" in the triple jump, Shannon Morton of Indian River winning the 1500 easily in a time of 4:52.17, and Grassfield rising senior Trey Holloway moving quickly through the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 14.53. Day 1 results from Peninsula Ice Breaker included 7.09 55 meter dash performance by a freshmen girl from Heritage High School in Asonya Anderson, who defeated returning Nike Indoor Nationals champion Christal Peterson of Phoebus (7.11).
