With the entry deadline a week away, early indications are that the newest edition of the Southern Track Classic will be equal to the first five. Over 40 schools have submitted entries while many others have verbally indicated their intentions. On the boys side, out of state relay powers highlight the early entries. DeMatha Catholic of Hyattsville, Maryland brings in their All-American 4X400 quartet from indoors with a very strong 4X100 team to boot. Germantown Academy of the Philadelphia suburbs will tool into Richmond with a Nike Indoor National 4X800 runner-up team. Taco Bell 3200 meter champion Steve Duplinsky of Georgetown Prep. will move down to the mile for The Classic.

All coaches are reminded that the deadline for the STC entries is April 27th. Please follow the procedure that was listed in the entry packet sent to schools. Some schools have submitted electronic entries but have not followed up with paper confirmation and entry fees. Your entries do not go into the meet data base until the entry fee is received! As in the past, the Southern Classic will be the only major meet in the U.S. to refund fees for rejected athletes. Do not wait to enter your athletes and fees. In the past some great athletes have missed the meet due to entry error.
