Cassel\'s XBC Track Classic Highlights MileSplit Staff May 1, 2007

Competitor numbers are suppose to the serve the purpose of identifying athletes at meets. Not determine the actual finish order in the events as was the case with the Atlee girls pole vaulters at the Cassel's XBC Track Classic at Chantilly High School. As the first school in alphabetical order in the meet with only their pole vaulters participating, the competition numbers were given out in alphabetical order to #1 Emma Dejarnette, #2 Rachael Hawks, and #3 Emily Jeremiah. It happened to be their finish order in the girls' pole vault at Chantilly as the Atlee girls swept the top three places with Dejarnette (1st, 10'6), Hawks (2nd, 10'0"), and Jeremiah (3rd, 9'6"). What are the odds?! The performance of the meet though belonged to W.T. Woodson senior Sarrah Hadiji as the William & Mary signee clocked the state's fastest time for 800 meters with a four second win of 2:15.89. Hadiji was coming off a top ten finish of 10:00 in the Penn Relays 3K on Thursday, which would convert to a 3200 personal best for the two-time AAA indoor state champ in the event.
