2007 BOYS AND GIRLSSTATE INDOOR TRACK & FIELD MEET INFORMATION
The Group AAA State Indoor Track Meet will be conducted at GeorgeMasonUniversity, Fairfax, Virginia on March 2&3 This meet will be run on a 200-meter track. Each entry form submitted to the VHSL Office for the 2007 Boys and Girls Indoor Track and Field Championships must show the running event results, which have been converted, from the English System to the Metric System or measurements. All times must be converted to F.A.T.
ALL teams must submit to their Regional Directors, both the traditional hard copy of the entry form, and their team
entries in Hy-Tek Windows software format. The Hy-Tek entries could be on disc or via e-mail.
Failure to convert these entries by the director and/or coach will render the competitors INELIGIBLE.
ADMISSIONS: $4.00 for Friday session and $6.00 for Saturday. No charge for pre‑school children accompanied by a paying spectator. Each participant will need his/her competitor's number for admission.
COACHES MEETING: The coaches' meeting is set for March 2 at 4:45 p.m. at GMU Field House. Coaches may pick up school kits at the coaches meeting. They will contain meet programs, competitors' numbers and nametags. (Manager passes will be limited to two per team. Two coach's passes will also be included in your team packets. If you have more than two coaches contact your regional meet director at the coaches meeting preceding the meet with their names.)
FACILITY: The GMU Field House track is a 200‑meter track. Only 1/8" spikes or flats may be used. No ground‑down spikes are permitted. Any athlete using spikes other than the 1/8" spikes will be disqualified from this meet.
EQUIPMENT: Each team must furnish its own towels, shots and poles. Starting blocks will be furnished. Each contestant must wear proper track uniform, which shall consist of a jersey (with a number provided by VHSL), trunks and shoes as identified in rule 4‑3 of the current rulebook. Dressing room facilities will NOT be available.
SHOT: Friday, March 2rd; Girls shot will be certified at 4:00 ‑ 4:15 p.m., Boys shot will be certified at 5:30 - 6:45 p.m. and Boys pole vault will be certified at 4:00 p.m. Girls pole vault will be certified at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3th. NOTE: THE SHOT USED IN GIRLS COMPETITION WILL BE 8 lbs. 13 oz. (4.0 kg). Make sure uniform letters are given to the meet director upon your arrival to Field House.
AWARDS: Team Trophies (1st, 2nd, & 3rd) will be presented at the conclusion of the meet. Individual medals (1st-8th) will be available to be picked up by athletes in infield after results are announced.
PARTICIPATION LIMITATIONS: A contestant may compete in any number of field events but shall be limited to participation in only three running events; except that a contestant who competes in the 3200M run, may compete in only one other running event on the same day as the 3200M run.
If a contestant is entered in a field event, which conflicts in the time schedule with a track event in which he is entered, he shall make advance arrangements with the official in charge of the field event to postpone his trials until after the track event has been run. No track or field event will be held up to accommodate a contestant.
NOTE: Competitors shall be disqualified for an event if his/her coach, manager, attendant or any one associated with his/her team is on the infield (the track, the enclosure inside, or those areas designated only for officials and contestants actually participating or preparing for an event.
ELIGIBLE TO STATE MEET: Entries may be only those contestants who placed first, second, third, fourth, fifth or sixth in a Regional Meet or those contestants who were properly reported by the District or Regional Meet Director as having met the state qualifying standards at the District or Regional Championship Meets (trials or finals) or who met the state qualifying standard in a meet of 4 or more teams and who have submitted the State Standard Verification form to THE DISTRIC AND REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVE. If an athlete qualifies by placing in the top six at the regional meet; they may enter as there seed time or performance into the state meet, their best time or performance achieved at any meet of 4 or more teams during the season (even if it doesn't meet the state standard) so long as it is legitimately verifiable by their District and Regional Meet Director.
SEEDING: Seeding for all events shall be done on the basis of marks attained in district and regional meets, marks attained in meeting the state qualifying standard submitted on a verification form, or the fastest verifiable mark attained during the season by an athlete who finishes in the top 6 at their regional championship.

The VHSL office staff will receive scratches of entries ONLY FOR EMERGENCY REASONS. Any scratches in any running event after Monday, February 26th, 11:00 a.m. will disqualify any individual from all running events.
