Meet Information
My name is Mark Love and I am the Head Cross Country Coach at Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, Va. I would like to invite you to the 7th annual Becky Selfe Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 at the 4-H Center on Hillman Highway between Meadowview and Abingdon.
Last years meet was the first one that we have had at the 4-H Center and even though it was very muddy from the rain, it was a successful meet and it is a great course to run a cross country meet. We hope that you will be able to attend the Becky Selfe this year. NOTE: THE HILL THAT CAUSED SO MANY PROBLEMS LAST YEAR BECAUSE OF THE RAIN HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF THE COURSE. THE COURSE WILL BE THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THAT SECTION. WE WILL BE BYPASSING THE HILL.
The 4-H Center is only 6 or 7 miles from Patrick Henry High School at Exit 22 (Enterprise Rd.) There is lots of open space, woods to run through, and it is very viewer friendly.
INFORMATION FOR THE MEET:
- The entry fee is $70.00 per school or $35.00 per team (boys and girls) for High Schools. The entry fee for middle schools is $35.00 per school.
- Individual Runners (less than 5 per team) will be $5.00 per runner.
- You can send your entry fee to Patrick Henry High School, 31437 Hillman Highway, Glade Spring, Va, 24340, c/o Mark Love - cross country coach, or you can bring it the day of the meet.
- Make checks payable to Patrick Henry High School and please write on the memo line of the check that it is for cross country.
- There will be t-shirts and concessions for sale at the meet.
ENTRIES: Entries will be done online. It is already open on the calendar. If you know that you will be attending, please go ahead and add your schools name so I can have an idea of how many schools will be participating.

DIRECTIONS to the course:
- Take I-81 to the Enterprise Rd. Exit (Exit 22). Take a right off the exit if traveling South, take a left if traveling North. Follow this road to the stop sign and take a left. You will be on Hillman Highway and you will follow Hillman for 1.5 to 2.0 miles and the 4-H Center will be on your left. There will be someone there to park the buses.
