VA Runner Invitational 2007

Stafford, VA

Meet Information

VA Runner Invitational

Colonial Forge High School

Saturday, March 31, 2007

We will be hosting the second annual VA Runner Invitational on March 31 this year. We would like to thank VA Runner and Jeff Van Horn, a huge supporter of not only high school track and field, but to everyone of all ages that is interested in running in our area. There at not many businesses that take the time to help, educate, and guide like VA Runner does with everyone that walks through their doors every day.

Facilities - Our track is an eight lane all-weather track that was resurfaced this past summer. For those of you that have run here before, the fence around the track is no longer an issue for the hurdles and 4 x 100m relay. We have also purchased new hurdles.

Our throwing areas are not located beside the track. Both throws areas are located about 400m away from the track. Once you arrive to the facility, you can get a map that will direct you to the throwing areas if you are not familiar with the facility.

There will be a full menu of concessions for purchase.

Meals for Coaches We will be supplying breakfast and lunch for coaches.

SAT Date - This is a SAT testing date. We will have limited events in the morning to try to accommodate the athletes testing. In the event you would want your athletes taking their tests locally, both North Stafford HS (about 3 miles from Colonial Forge HS) in Stafford County and Freedom HS (about 18 miles from Colonial Forge HS) in Prince William County, and Spotsylvania HS (about 25 miles from Colonial Forge HS) in Spotsylvania County.

Number of Teams We will be keeping the number of teams participating low since each team will have an entry limit of four entries per individual events and one entry per relay. In the meet schedule, you will find the information that is relevant for each event.

Entry Fee

If your team participated in last years VA Runner Invitational the entry fee per team is $125, which will cover both the boys and girls. If you are only bringing a boys or a girls team, the entry fee will be $75.

If this is the first year you will be participating in the VA Runner Invitational the entry fee is $140, which will cover both the boys and girls. If you are only bringing a boys or a girls team, the entry fee will be $85.

If you are only bringing a couple of athletes (less than five boys and five girls), contact Jay for arrangements for your entry fee.

Team Awards - There will be a team championship. Each schools score will be a combination of both their boys and girls teams. Scoring will be based on the first six places. The only events that will have trials will be both the 100m and the short hurdle races. We will bring back the top 12 in each of these events for a two heat final. If you are not bringing full teams of both boys and girls, you may not be counted in the team championship, but you will be eligible for all individual and relay awards.

Individual Awards - There will be awards for the top three in each event, for both individual and relay events.

Pole Vault - Coaches will need to sign a pole vault compliance form before their athletes will be aloud to start their warm-ups on the runway.

Timing and Results - The timing will be FAT with a Finish Lynx system. All results will be processed with HyTek and posted outside of the press box during the meet. If you would like a copy of the results at the end of the meet, bring a 3.5 disc with you for an HTML copy at the end of the meet. Otherwise, the results will be posted at www.milestat.com soon after the meet.

If you plan on attending our meet, please email Jay at eagles-track@hotmail.com as soon as you can. A number of you have told me that you are attending, but if you would, email me anyways. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call me at home at 540-720-7658 (local to Northern Virginia) or on my cell at 703-475-4559. If you are attending the meet, I will be sending out information during the indoor season.
