Prince William Country Championships Meet Summary

The first ever Prince William County Championships were held Wednesday, April 11th at Battlefield High School in Haymarket. All of the schools were on board for the inaugural meet despite the horrid weather conditions they encountered with the cold, wind, and rain, which forced the meet to be called off prior to the 200 meter dash. The Battlefield boys and Osbourn Park girls were crowned as the country champions as a result. Battlefield's Eric Hoepker (pictured left at the 2006 Brentsville Relays) came through big for his team in the rain with a narrow victory in the 1600 meter run and upset win in the 800 meter run.
