Meet Date:  Saturday, October 13th.
   
Location: Panorama Farms, Earlysville (Charlottesville), VA
   
Postponement: In case of dangerous weather (tornadoes, hurricanes, floods...) we will post-pone the meet until Tuesday, Oct. 16th, with J.V. races starting at 4:30; Varsity at 5:30.
   
Directions: to the course are posted on the web site.  TRAFFIC may be heavy as UVa has a home football game that Saturday.  The start time of that game is TBA.

 Open 5K race for anyone other than high school athletes ($15 per person)

 8th - 9th grade - Girl's Developmental 3k Race   ($20.00 for the team)  

11:45 

 8th - 9th grade Boy's Developmental 3k Race  ($20.00 for the team)

12:15   Girl's J.V. Race ($40.00 for the team)
1:00  Boy's Varsity Race ($50.00) Only seven are allowed to run.
1:30  Girl's Varsity Race ($50.00)  Only seven are allowed to run
2:15   Boy' J.V. Race ($40.00 for the team)
3:15  Awards ceremony
   
 

 If you enter all the divisions then the fee is $150.  Checks made out to Albemarle High School.

   
Entries: Complete the entry form and send it in with your entry fee. We will be limiting the number of teams to THIRTY this year.  The sooner you get your  entries in the the better.   ONCE you are officially entered, the fees  will not be refunded.   Make your checks out to "Albemarle High School". Once we have the  form and your check you are entered in the meet. Your team rosters must be submitted via e-mail to Lance Weisend at <Lweisend@k12albemarle.org> by Friday, October 5th.  You DO NOT have to declare who is in your top SEVEN for the varsity race.   All we need is a list of you male athletes with their grade levels and female athletes with their grade levels.  (see the explanation below). Once we receive your mailed entries we will reply with a confirmation that you are all set.
   
Rosters:

Must be emailed to Coach Weisend by Friday, Oct. 5th in the format below with the boys and girls names listed separately.  It helps if they are listed alphabetically as well.   Be sure to include the name of your school.

Coaches Instructions: Please read the detailed Instructions for Coaches
   
Awards:
  • Top Varsity Boys and Top Varsity Girls Teams get plaques.

  • Top 15 runners in each of the Varsity Races get T-Shirts

  • Individual Varsity Champions get a jacket.

  • Top Three Varsity Teams get medals for their seven varsity runners.  

  • J.V. & Developmental runners get ribbons for top 20 finishers (handed out at the finish-line.)

  • Individual J.V. Champions get a cup.

  • Open Race Champion for Men and for Women will be given a prize.

   
Concessions: Food will be available at the meet including hamburgers, hot dogs, and pizza.
   
T-Shirts: Meet T-Shirts will be sold for $15.00 for short sleeves, and $20.00 for Long Sleeves.
   
Parking:  $5.00 per car.  (excluding runners and coaches).

Coaches Instructions

1. Make sure your athletes wear their numbers on the front of their jersey, and that they are pinned in
the small holes on the corners. Do not pen the big hole on the tear off portion on the bottom of the
number.

2. Check to make sure that the information on the bottom portion of the number is correct. If there are
any errors, please let the computer person know.

3. For the VARSITY Races please collect your runners place numbers after the race, and put them in the
quick score envelope provided in your packet. Be sure to keep your boys and girls places and
envelopes separated, and have them clearly marked when you return them to the BARN.

4. PLEASE EXPLAIN TO YOUR ATHLETES THE NEED TO MOVE THROUGH THE CHUTE!!! IF THEY STOP OR
FALL DOWN THE MEET OFFICIALS WILL MOVE THEM! ANY ATHLETE RESISTING, STRIKING OR
VERBALLY ASSAULTING THE MEET OFFICIALS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

5. PLEASE KEEP THE PARENTS OF YOUR ATHLETES AWAY FROM THE CHUTES, AND THE MEET HEAD-
QUARTERS. ANY PARENT INTERFERING WITH MEET OFFICIALS WILL HAVE THEIR TEAM DISQUALIFIED,
AND MAY BE PROSECUTED.

6. PLEASE INFORM ALL OF YOUR ATHLETES THAT THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED, AND PROSECUTED IF
THEY STEAL, DESTROY, OR DEFACE ANY PROPERTY ON PANORAMA FARMS, OR ANY MATERIALS
MARKING THE COURSE.

7. Please keep your athletes out of the areas that are roped off. Especially the houses.

8. Please have your team police the area where they set up to pick up the trash.
