SCHOOL AND INDIVIDUAL QUALIFYING LIMITS:Top 4 finshers from each regional championship meet advance to the state meet. No qualifying standards will be used.
**ELIGIBLE TO STATE MEET for the 2020-2021 outdoor season only: INDIVIDUALS PLACING IN THE TOP 4 AND RELAY TEAMS PLACING IN THE TOP 4 IN THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET. The Regional Director through the Mile stat Database can verify performance into the state meet, their best time or performance achieved at any meet of 3 or more teams during the season for seeding purposes. Times and Distances achieved in Club meets or an unattached athlete cannot be used. Each Region can advance only four entries in each event. All events will have a maximum field of 16 Athletes. Each relay will be allowed 1 alternate only.
ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS: Coaches will enter their athletes by using milestat.com online entry service. All entries must be submitted using FAT times. Failure to convert these entries by the director and/or coach will render the competitor's ineligible. In the unlikely event that there is an issue with the download or that a mistake is made on the Milestat entry, you are required to complete the VHSL entry forms. VHSL forms should be submitted according to instructions given to you by your Regional Director. Entry deadline is Sunday, June 13, 2021 by 12:00 Noon.
Scratches: Scratch Deadline is Monday, June 14th at 12:00 Noon. All scratches should be emailed to Donna Sessoms, head timer with Xcelerating Timing atxceleratingtime@aol.comVENUE INFORMATION: Each facility includes an eight-lane track, high jump and pole vault setups, two sand pits for jumps, and a separate throws area for shot put, discus.
COACHES PASSES: Schools advancing 1 - 10 athletes will be provided 2 coaching passes. Schools advancing 11 or more athletes will receive a third pass. No VHSCA or VHSL coaching passes will be accepted.
MEET FORMAT: Each classification will have a one-day meet as approved by the VHSL Executive Committee when the Championship plus 1 model was adopted.

ADMISSION: Tickets are only available through Go Fan for $10 + $1.50 convenience fee per ticket. No tickets will be sold at the gate. Online sales will begin on Monday, June 14, 2021 starting 8:00 AM at https://gofan.co/app/school/VHSL. Each school will be allowed to have an AD, Principal, and Superintendent attend the event using their state pass.
PARKING: Each venue has ample parking for the day. Please follow signs and parking attendant instructions. More information by site will be available in the near future.
RULES AND SCORING: NFHS Track and Field Rule for 2020 and the VHSL rules as stated in the VHSL handbook will be observed. Scoring(Rule 2-Section 1-3) from the NFHS Track and Field Rules for 2020 will be followed.
TIMING: FAT timing will be used when scoringthe meet.Finish LynxCameras willbe set up at the finishline.
FACE COVERINGS: While outdoors, all student-athletes, coaches, officials, timers, event staff, and spectators should continue to wear a mask in accordance with CDC guidance, i.e. fully vaccinated individuals may remove their masks. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated must wear a mask unless they can maintan six feet of physical distance.
TEAMPACKETS:Available the dayoft he meetonly. Packets willinclude a facility map,bib numbers,timeschedule ,and coach's meetingagenda.
ATHLETIC TRAINERS: Certified athletic trainers will be available for limited services, located at the finish line. ATCs will be stationed throughout the course to assist injured athletes.
TENTS:Mustbe erected in designated areas only. More information will be provided in the near future.
DRESSINGAREA:There willbe no dressingareaprovided.Portablerestrooms willbeprovided.
AWARDS:Teamawards willbepresentedat a designated area to each head coach. More information will be provided at each site on race day. Head Coachesshould listenforaP.A. announcementastotheexact timeawards willbepresented.
STATE OUTDOOR TRACK T-SHIRTS &SWEATSHIRTS:T-Shirts (crewneck, short,&longsleeve) and sweatshirtswillbeavailableinvariousstyles. All athletes and/or spectators are expected to adhere to face covering and social distancing guidelines while in line.
OVERNIGHT ACCOMODATIONS: Any school requiring overnight accomodations are encouraged to utilize the hotel information links below or located at https://www.vhsl.org/outdoor-track/. Hotel information is included for Harrisonburg, Lynchburg, and Newport News.
