THE BRADDOCK RELAYS

DATE: September 17th, 2022- Under the Lights!

RACE SCHEDULE:

* 4:00    Coaches Meeting 
* 4:15    Open Race (parents/coaches/etc...)
* 4:30    3rd Grade and Younger 400m Race
* 4:40    6th Grade and Under 800m Race  
* 5:00    8th Grade and Under 2500 Meter Race
* 5:15    Boys Extras 1 2500 Meter Race 
* 5:30    Boys Extras 2 2500 Meter Race 
* 5:45    Boys Extras 3 2500 Meter Race
* 6:00    Boys Extras 4 2500 Meter Race
* 6:15    Girls Extras 1 2500 Meter Race 
* 6:35    Girls Extras 2 2500 Meter Race  
* 6:55    Girls Extras 3 2500 Meter Race
* 7:15    Girls Extras 4 2500 Meter Race  
* 7:35    Boys A & B Championship Relay Race 
* 8:30    Girls A & B Championship Relay Race 



We will be limiting the field to 25 schools.

THE COURSE: The race will be run on multiple surfaces with some hills on the campus of Lake Braddock Secondary School. (Flats recommended over spikes) Each runner will run a 2500 meter loop. The course is quite spectator friendly. 

We ask each coach to send Coach Switzer a note on Thursday before the event with an approximate number of extra racers per gender so we can balance the sections. COST: $250/school -- unlimited entrants.

PAYMENT: $250/school. Unlimited entries per school. Checks made out to: LBSS with Braddock Relays in the memo. Send to: Lake Braddock Secondary School c/o Jason Switzer, 9200 Burke Lake Rd Burke, VA 22015. 

ADMISSION & OPEN RACE FEES: Spectators: $5.00 entry fee at the entrance to the facility. Entry Fees for Open and Youth races included with your entrance fee. No need to preregister. Gate fee will be via Etix app. QR code available at the gate.

TEAMS & RACES: Each school may enter a boys' and a girls' A & B (the 'A' team should be your top 5 runners.....the 'B' team is your runners #6-10). Please keep your best kids on the appropriate relay. Any additional runners on your team who are not on a relay team can compete in the open 2500 meter Extras Races. 

AWARDS: Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top  boys and girls 'A' relay teams. The top 10 boys and girls in the extras races will receive medals.

TEAM AWARDS: We will award an overall boys and girls team champion based on team performance in 2 relays A, & B. A first place team finish in a relay race receives 5 pts, 2nd place receives 4 pts, 3rd place receives 3 pts., 4th place receives 2 pts, and 5th place receives 1 pt. The highest possible team score will be 10 points (2-1st place finishes). Tie Breaker is place in the A race.
