2022 Big Cat 

UPDATE:  Due to delayed construction on our stadium field, we had to change the course for this years Big Cat.  Please see the new course map and parking map at the bottom.  Most of the course is the same as last year but we've eliminated the hill and will be starting and finishing on the practice fields behind the school.  If you have any questions please contact the meet director.  We hope to bring back the hill next year as well as our new turf field. 

We are excited to host the 2022 Big Cat!  One change from previous years, we will be reducing the entries per race from 10 to 7 runners per team.   This will allow more teams to be entered in the varsity races.  You are still free to enter teams in A and B races as well as unlimited entries in the JV races.

Registration Info
Varsity and JV races (VHSL sanctioned): $7 per entered athlete; Max team fee $300

7 runners per Varsity team
Unlimited runners for JV races (JV races can include 8th graders)


Coaches / Teams can pick up their bibs and team packet at the concession stand area.

RACE SCHEDULE

7:30AM - Course Opens, Packet Pick-up

8:00AM - Coaches Meeting (near the concession stand)

8:30AM - Varsity A Girls Race (7 per team)

9:00AM - Varsity A Boys Race (7 per team)

9:30AM - Varsity B Girls Race (7 per team)

10:00AM - Varsity B Boys Race (7 per team)

10:30AM - JV Girls Race (unlimited)

11:00AM - JV Boys Race (unlimited)



Course Map (new course for 2022):

Course consists of grass and gravel road. Spikes are permitted but not necessary. 1 mile and 2 mile will be clearly marked. Course marshals will be spread out on the course.

Certified Athletic Trainers will be on site. One athletic trainer will follow the runners on the gator/golf cart and a second athletic trainer will be at the finish line in the event of a medical emergency.

Spectator Parking: located at Bruton High School. Spectators can park near the event entrance or in front of the school.  Please see parking map for event entrance.



Concession Stand

Bruton High School XC & Track will have the concession stand open.



Directions:

From Interstate 64: Take exit 238. Turn Right onto Rochambeau Drive. Turn Left into Bruton High School in approximately 1.5 miles.

Awards:

Varsity Races: Top 10 boy and girl runners receive medals

JV Races: Top 10 boy and girl runners receive medals

Team trophy for 1st and 2nd place in varsity races
