Alleghany XC Invitational 2024

Come join us for the 10th annual Alleghany XC Invitational that will be held at the blazing fast Jackson River Sports Complex course. This course is extremely flat, with only 67 total feet of elevation and a groomed grass surface, spectator friendly, multiple clean bathroom houses, concessions and a large parking area. All of this at a low entry fee. This was the location of the 2018 Region 3D and 2020 Region 2C Championship races.

If this race gets to 30 registered Varsity teams, I will add a Varsity division for smaller schools.

Registration Deadline: Please have your teams registered by Tuesday Sept 17 by noon to help our timer.

Timing

This meet will be timed by Run Roanoke.

Scoring and Uniforms

We will follow the NFHS Rules Book for Scoring and Uniforms. See the NFHS T&F/XC rules book if you need. Spikes are recommended for this course.

Awards

Awards will be given to Teams and individuals  immediately following each set of races.

Awards will be given to the Top 15 finishers in the Varsity races, top 5 in the JV races,

Top 15 in each Middle School Race

Team Trophy will be awarded to top 3 teams in each Varsity race and top 3 in each middle school race.

Sanctioning

This meet is sanctioned.

Entry Fees

Middle School

$50 per gender for Middle school teams ($90 for both)

$10 per individual if less than five runners

High School

$90 per gender for High school teams ($180 for both)

$10 per individual if less than 5 runners

$5 for Elementary School Runners

Submitting Entries

All entries will be done through milestat.com with the exception of Elementary runners

ALL ENTRIES ARE DUE BY Tuesday Sept. 21 at Midnight.

Will be posted at the meet and will be posted to RunRoanoke.com and Milestat.com

Concessions

There will be a full concession stand available. 

Race Tees 

Custom Race tees will be screen printed and sold at the meet thanks to Tees2go out of Staunton

Restrooms will be available on site

Team Area

Teams will have a designated area. We ask that everyone be respectful of our host site and clean up after ourselves when we leave (trash bags will be provided).

Athletic Trainers

We will have an athletic trainer depending on availability on site for limited assistance.

Water Coolers will be available for athletes before and after the race.

From the East: I-64 West to Exit 14 in Covington. Take a right and travel 1 mile on S. Durant Road/Jackson Street. Take a left on S. Rayon Drive and cross a bridge over the Jackson River. After bridge, road veers to the left and Jackson River Sports Complex will be on the left. The Sports Complex is 1.4 miles off of I-64.

From the West: I-64 East to Exit 14 in Covington. Take a right and travel 1 mile on S. Durant Road/Jackson Street. Take a left on S. Rayon Drive and cross a bridge over the Jackson River. After bridge, road veers to the left and Jackson River Sports Complex will be on the left. The Sports Complex is 1.4 miles off of I-64.

Parking Information

Parking will be available on site. There will be a $5.00 fee per vehicle Spectator Fee (team buses and vans exempt). Buses should drop teams off at the Tent area and then park in the large parking lot in the center of the park.
