2024 Region 3D Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Hosted by Abingdon High School
Entries: Entries will be through Milestat.com. All times must be Verified on Milestat. All athletes must have a mark prior to the region meet. The entry deadline is Monday May 20nd by 11:59 pm.
Time: Earliest arrival on campus 1pm. 2:30 PM Start time.
Admission:$10.00
Passes: VHSCA, VHSL Coaches Pass, VIAAA, VATA, VSBA, Principals State Membership card.
Region Qualifiers: 3 entries per event and 1 Relay entry. To enter more than 3 in an individual event all entries must have the region standard. All times submitted must be F.A.T. from the 2024 Outdoor season- to convert a hand time, round the tenths up if the hundredths is greater than 0 and then add 0.24 to that rounded time.
State Qualifiers: Class 3 - top 4 performers from each event plus those who have met the Class 3 State qualifying standards for each event as published by VHSL.
Format: Regional Tournament for Track and Field as defined by the Region 3D and VHSL Handbooks:
Parking: Buses will drop athletes off at Washington County Maintenance Office parking lot and enter the bottom stadium gate.
Spectators:Spectators will park at the Washington County Maintenance Office and will enter the stadium at the bottom gate. Spectators can sit on either side of the stadium in the bleachers. No spectators will be allowed on the track/infield. The shot put will be contested beyond the fence and spectators can sit in the small set of bleachers to view this event only.
Team Tents will be allowed on the visitors side bleachers only. No tents on the home side.
Scoring:10-8-6-4-2-1 for both individual and relay events.
Starting Heights: The starting height at the pole vault and high jump will be One Height below the Region standard, unless entries dictate a more appropriate height is necessary. The games committee is responsible for making that decision.
Concession Stand will be available in the stadium
Coaches Hospitality: Lunch will be provided to coaches. Each school will be provided 3 meal tickets. Please email me if you need extra.
Region T-Shirts: Region 3D Championships Shirts will be sold in the concession stand.
Time Schedule:
1:00pm-Stadium Opens
1:15-2:15pm-Weighing of throwing implements (fieldhouse)implements must be weighed in to use in competition.
1:45pm-Coaches meeting (start/finish line)
2:30pm-Field Events: 3 Attempts (Top 7 to Finals)
Girls/Boys Long Jump followed by Girls/Boys Triple Jump
Girls High Jump followed by Boys High Jump
Girls Discus followed by Boys Discus
Boys Shot Put followed by Girls Shot Put
Girls Pole Vault followed by Boys Pole Vault. (if number of entries allows both genders will compete together and scored separately)
4pm-Rolling Schedule: All Track events will be Girls followed by Boys. All heats slow to fast.
