New meet, new name, same fast course! The VA XC Showcase replaces the long standing MileStat.com XC Invitational on the great Pole Green Upper Course. This course is without a doubt, the fastest 5K in the nation almost entirely on short grass that absorbs any water amazingly.

Sanctioned: The sanction for this event will be posted as soon as it is approved. Meet management will be applying for an NFHS sanction for all states wishing to attend. Please contact us if you would like your state sanctioned.
Course Description:The course is a very special one that is only used for this invitational and elite college races such as the Atlantic 10 Conference meet. It is made for PR's and on grass and some dirt. It has a great atmosphere as the course goes around our infield area that usually has well over a thousand people watching and cheering at any point!

Divisions:
The Showcase Division (Girls/Boys): Top 35 Ranked Teams + Sub 16 Boys & Sub 19 Girls
The Elite Division (Girls/Boys): Next Top 10-15 Ranked Teams + Teams With Conflicts/Other Gender Qualified for AM Session
Large Schools Division (Girls/Boys) - Remaining Varsity Teams Class 4-6 or private schools/out of state teams enrollment over 1000
Small Schools Division (Girls/Boys) - Remaining Varsity Teams Class 1- 3 or private schools/out of state teams enrollment under 1000
Middle School Division (Girls/Boys) - 1 race per gender
JV Divisions (Girls/Boys) - There are JV races for both morning and afternoon sessions. Your JV runners will run in the JV race that is in the same session as your varsity team has been placed in.
SEEDING NOTE: The list of teams qualifying for each division will be posted no later than Monday prior to the meet. These race assignments are seeded by meet management. Conflicts will not allow teams to move up to the "Showcase" race. Legitimate conflicts will be considered for moving teams to the "Elite" race.
SEEDING NOTE #2: Meet management will try and release a preliminary list of morning vs afternoon teams on Sunday October 6th. Here we will denote the teams who are on the bubble for the morning races.
Box Assignments: New in 2024, box assignments will now be randomly drawn prior to the meet. In an effort to be more fair, we will draw box assignments for every race the week of the meet. These will be posted here (link) once they are drawn. At-large individuals will be able to choose between 2-3 boxes labeled "individuals".
Entry Fees: Entry fee rates shown below.
High School Division - $30 per runner entered. $400 max per school.
Middle School Division - $15 per runner entered. $250 max per school.
Open Division - $25 per individual entered.

Entry Deadline:Entries will close online at 11:00pm on Sunday, October 13th. All entries and team roster submissions must be done online. NO EXCEPTIONS! Make sure that you have selected all runners from your roster who will be competing on race day prior to this deadline.
NEW IN 2024
Parking: In an effort to allow all teams, spectators, and park users a quick, seamless, and safe access to enter and exit Pole Green Park we are asking that all spectators pre-register online that they will be parking at our event. This registration will allow meet management to provide travel tips and up to date parking information via email prior to arrival.

FINAL TIME SCHEDULE
Friday, October 18th, 2024 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM - Course Preview, Packet Pickup, T-Shirt Sales
Check-In:All athletes and teams should report to their starting boxes 15 minutes prior to their race is scheduled to begin.
Awards: Team awards will be given to the top 5 teams in the "Showcase" division and the top 3 teams in all other divisions. The top 25 individual finishers will receive medals as well in all races. Awards ceremonies will take place one hour after the start time of the race. Meaning, if your race started at 10:00am, your award ceremony would be at 11:00am. The Girls "Showcase" team trophy is named the "Stan Morgan Memorial Cup", The Boys "Showcase" team trophy is named the "Jim Holdren Trophy", and the JV team winners will each receive the "Jim Triemplar JV Cup".
Coaches Meeting: Two virtual coaches meetings will be held Tuesday evening October 15th. The first will be at 7:00pm and will be for morning session teams only. The second will be at 7:30pm and will be for afternoon session teams only. Please email questions ahead of time if you think others have the same question. One coach per team must be on the call. T-Shirts: Meet T-Shirts will be sold on-site.
