The 23rd Annual Gar-Field Invitational - May 1, 2024
The Second Twilight Invitational at Gar-Field!
Eight lane all weather, BRAND NEW TRACK & FIELD FACILITIES!
| Time | 1:00pm: Track will open (If a team needs to come earlier due to transportation, please contact me to let me know and I can arrange to house your student-athletes.) 2:45pm: Coaches meeting 3:00pm: Field events will begin 3:30pm:*If necessary, an early section of the 3200 will be run* 4pm: 4x800 will begin. 4:30pm: Running events, starting with the 100H/110H, will begin on a rolling schedule. The scheduled times for the 4x800 and running events may be adjusted to 3:30pm and 4pm, respectively, if an early section of the 3200 is not required. Any time changes will be communicated promptly after the entry deadline to allow coaches to prepare their athletes accordingly. | |||||||||||||||||||||

| Entry Fees & Payment Information | $375.00 per school (both teams) or $200 for a single gender. Small Schools: $25 per athlete/$40 per relay ***IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP RUN A FIELD EVENT, YOU WILL RECEIVE A $50 DISCOUNT OFF YOUR ENTRY FEE. | Sanctioning Contact information for Meet Directors | Gar-Field invitational will be sanctioned for public schools from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, District of Columbia, and North Carolina. Private schools must email Coach Dickerson to be cleared to avoid sanctioning issues.

| Entries | Each school is allowed 35 entries per gender (max 6 per event) not including relays. Schools are allowed one team per gender per relay event. Entries must be completed using the milestat.com entry system. Please adhere to VHSL rules: 3 running events and unlimited field events unless doing the 3200m run, then the athlete is limited to 2 running events. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Field Events | Field events will begin at 3:00pm 4 attempts - no finals - for Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus - First legal attempt is measured. Thereafter the following minimum standards must be met. *Pole vault will NOT be contested at the meet* Athletes MUST check in prior to the beginning of the event and check out prior to leaving for their running event. | Scoring & Awards | Scoring: 8 places 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Medals for top three individual place finishers and top three relays. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Admission | Admission is $7. Seniors 65+ and kids under 6 are free. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Other Information | Coaches' lunch will be provided. Concessions will be sold throughout the meet. If your team is bringing a tent, please set them up in the AWAY stands on the far side bleachers. If that fills up, please set them AT THE TOP of the home stands so that spectators' views are not blocked by tents. FAT provided by Final Lap Timing Group |
