10/18 - Greg Macri becomes inaugural Lehigh Valley Champ Oct 18, 2002

Greg Macri of Parkland, last year’s runner-up to Dorian McDonald of Liberty in final Mountain Valley meet, made a big move at the two mile mark to beat soph Sam Luff of Emmaus to become the first champion at the inaugural Lehigh Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference Meet in 16:28.

10/17 - Brian Fuller holds off Pat Philbin Oct 17, 2002

Cumberland Valley's Brian Fuller held off Cedar Cliff senior Pat Philbin by 10 seconds, going 16:10. But Carlisle placed five in the top 19 behind the 7th place finish of Nick Brousse in 17:08.

10/16 - Rich Little wins in 17:03 Oct 16, 2002

Rich Little, Pleasant Valley, led his team to 2nd in the Conference with a 17:03. But it was the 2nd place 17:24 of Bob Cohowicz, Stroudsburg, that was the top effort for the winning team.

10/16 - Southmoreland goes 4-5-6 Oct 16, 2002

Southmoreland went 4-5-6 with Larry Earnesty and Nick Barron timed in 19:04, and Steve Imel two seconds back. Brentwood's Dan Erny, won the race in 17:09.

10/12 - Joanna Marlow is the top PA finisher Oct 12, 2002

New Hope-Solebury's Joanna Marlow was the top PA finisher, getting 2nd in 19:36, 20 seconds behind Lawrenceville's (NJ) Becky MacKenzie, who led her team to a 21 point win over Germantown Academy.

10/5 - Ricci posts fastest time of day Oct 05, 2002

Hatboro-Horsham's Janine Ricci beat some great competition, including St. Hubert's star Amy Kelly, and posted the fastest time of the hot humid day in the Large Schools race at the difficult Salesianum (DE) Invitational at Brandywine Creek Park.

10/05 - West Chester Henderson started their scoring with 1-2, wins with 69 points Oct 05, 2002

NE US#9 Council Rock-North placed no one above 13th, but no scorer after 21st to tally just 77 points, normally good enough to win an invite the size of a Steel City. But NE US#6, US#25 West Chester Henderson started their scoring with 1-2, then placed three more in the teens, twenties and low-thirties to score just 69 points.

10/05 - Ryan Blood returns in a course record Oct 05, 2002

Obviously feeling no ill effects of allergies or a cold, East Pennsboro's Ryan Blood proceeded to return to form, taking the Cumberland County Championships in a course record 15:55.9 at Trinity High School.
