With only mere hours separated us from the penultimate meet, the VHSL State Cross Country Championships, it is time to look and preview each classification. Inside is a breif preview of the classification and the leaderboards for the top 50 individuals in the classification.
Very rarely does a major shift in strength shift from a boys team to a girls team so quickly, but that is just what is happening this year at Deep Run. A year ago, Deep Run’s boys stood atop the podium and hoisted the trophy high above their heads but this year it looks like the girls are positioned to do that after finishing 7th a year ago. Leading the way for the Wildcats is sophomore Margot Brown who is in her first cross country season and enters the meet as the third seed (18:24). Her and her teammates will have to work quite hard though as Tuscarora and top seed Emma Wolcott are just a mere four points behind them on paper.
