#5 Can Four Teams Sweep The State Team Titles?

Last XC season saw history happen. Lake Braddock and Maggie Walker both swept the titles for 2A and 6A. In fact, that was the first time in VHSL history where two programs swept both the boys and girls titles in the same season. But it could have been much bigger this year.

This season it looks like an insane four and potentially five schools could sweep the state titles.

In 6A, both Lake Braddock and James Madison will be attempting to sweep the titles but Lake Braddock has their work cut out for them on the boys side while James Madison has a lot of ground to makeup on the girls.

In 3A, Blacksburg looks unbeatable on the girls side and looks very strong on the boys side. The boys have had quite a few tough breaks the past few years and really want this title. That drive looks to benefit them this season and if they do what they are supposed to, they will reign supreme in November.

In 2A, Maggie Walker is seriously a dynasty. Not enough people are talking about how a school of 800 or so students producing this much talent season after season. They have yet to drop a XC team title and it really doesn't look like they will start this year.

Finally in 1A, Auburn comes hot off of winning their first boys team title in school history to win another this year. Their girls team will look to win another as both come into the season comfortably ahead of their nearest competitors.

The long shot to sweep the titles then comes to 4A where both Midlothian and Loudoun Valley are currently cruising under the radar. We haven't seen enough of them to make a decision yet but we definitely aren't ruling out either of them sweeping these titles.
