The two-time defending Group AA state champion Blacksburg girls made a strong impression on us in our recent visit at their practice last Tuesday when they had 3 girls in Bonnie Angermeier, Emily Beatty, and Claire Ewing-Nelson running 5:20's at the tail end of a 3x1 mile repeat workout. Based on their returnees' performances in cross country and track last year and the additions of two talented freshmen this fall, the Blacksburg girls have earned the #1 pre-season girls' cross country team ranking in the state of Virginia according to MileStat.com.
