Get Ready for Friday! Southern Track Classic Full Preview

Now completely under the lights we will see the ultimate sprinter showdown on the girls side. If things play out to part then we will have Alexys Taylor (Osbourn Park) and Lauryn Ghee meeting up for the first time this season in the 200m dash. This is significant because Taylor is the top seed in the 100 and Ghee is the top seed in the 400. Ghee also leads the state in all three sprint races and the only time has ever she lost a 200 was of course to an Osbourn Park girl. Keep you eye on the clock in this one because we could see a 23 second 200.

To close the meet we get the previously mentioned boys 2 Mile and of course the girls 2 Mile as well which is headlined by Davidson, Ciara Donohue, and another five girls seeded below 11:00. We made a bold prediction that Virginia would have a lot of girls 10:30 this year and this could be a week that we see a few of them do it!

Lastly, of course will be the 4x400s which Nansemond River is highly favored on the girls side. Depending on how tired they are from the other events these girls could seriously chase history as they are only a couple seconds off of the state record in the event (3:45 so far this season). Woodbridge and Agyemang lead the boys competition with a 3:20 seed and a lot of close competition.
