The ninth annual Southern Track Classic will be held Friday, May 9th at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Virginia. In this past decade, the Southern Track Classic has proven itself to bring in the strongest assembly and representation of the state's best high school track and field athletes among all outdoor invitationals with its unique format of finals only by invitation and under the lights.
This year's meet expects to offer the same exciting gathering of elite athletes with also some exciting new developments. An emerging elite 400 meter dash division of 8th and 9th graders will be added to this year's event schedule to accommodate for some of our state's future sprint stars. Take a look at last summer's AAU and USATF track meet results and you'll will definitely see a flood of talent headed toward our high schools. Also, the Nike Mobile Van will be on-site at Sports Backers on May 9th.
Entries are now open on Direct Athletics for the 2008 Southern Track Classic and will remain open until April 20th at 5:00 PM.
