The #17 thing we are looking forward to this outdoor track season is Grant Northcutt and whether his dominance will continue. This indoor season he finally broke thru and won that first state title. Accompanying that state title was his honor as the distance runner of the year after he remained undefeated all season.

Grant, the Cosby senior and NC State commit, has been a star his entire high school career. He has faced off with some great competition and also battled injuries for years. This cross country season he wanted to break through but it was Brent Bailey taking the title late in that race.
Grant knew it was a tough loss but it wasn't until his 11th place at Foot Locker that we saw Grant put it into another gear.
This indoor season that other gear was evident throughout the entire season. He tallied up big wins and speedy times. He won the VA Showcase Two Mile in 9:14, ran a 2:30 1K, and a 4:18 1600.
Then came states where he dominated the 6A 3200 race and won his first state title in an easy 9:22. He skipped nationals and seems fresh for a huge outdoor season. We are very excited to see what the season holds and which records will fall.
