Cross Country is unlike any sport. Especially as it relates to speed and classification size. Yes, the larger classifications tend to have more depth but they necessarily don't have as many stars. Check out the rankings on the following pages and see how each classification lines up against the others.
In an interesting twist the classifications rank as follows based on the top runners. First is VISAA with Dan O'Brien, second is 4A with Theo Woods, and third is Oliver Wilson-Cook representing 2A. Following them is Joe Hawkes for 3A and then Dylan May for 1A. You have to then go all the way down to 18th in the state to reach your first 5A runner, Colby Burcham, and then down to 22nd to reach Kevin Murphy, the 6A State leader.
