VISAA Virtual State Meet & Preview

The 2021 return of VISAA State XC is going to be perhaps the fastest one on record. Now on the Pole Green Upper course we are going to be given a show with individual and team battles in all four races.

Team wise the favorites are Collegiate (D1) boys and girls, Trinity Christian School boys (D2), and Veritas girls (D2).

The biggest battle will be the battle between Potomac's Charlie Ortmans and Woodberry's Ferenc Kovacs who have separated themselves from the pack. Both boys have the potential of nearing a 15 flat mark this week and will almost certainly break the meet record of 15:11 set two years ago by Dan O'Brien.

Louka Fetter of Greenbrier leads D2 on paper with VES' Colin Walsh behind him. This should be an interesting and tactical battle as well on the fast upper course.

Over on the girls' side we have Maddie Gardiner positioned to break the meet record of 18:32 by a huge margin. She will be in D2 with Reese Dalton and Kerrigan Chaney

Finally in the D1 girls race we have Cecelia Pugsley leading a tight group of ladies. She enters the meet as the only sub 19 (18:49) in the division one race.
