UMW Men\'s, Women\'s Cross Country Teams Win McDaniel Invitationals



WESTMINSTER, MD - Both the University of Mary Washington women\'s and men\'s cross country teams finished in first place at the McDaniel College Invitational on Saturday in the teams\' first races of the season.
For the women, who placed first among eight schools, Sophomore Alison Hazlett finished first overall, with a time of 19:43. Classmate Christy Falcone took third, at 21:10, and Stephanie Grimes placed fifth, at 21:28. Amy Pasler placed tenth at 21:47, and Liz Gerber took eleventh, at 21:50.


The Eagle men had five runners in the top ten, paced by sophomore Justin Kirk, in second place at 27:32. Matt Downs took third, at 27:39, while Jason Call placed eighth at 28:27. Luke Wolverton was ninth, at 28:31, and Chris Badalato took tenth, at 28:39.


The Eagle teams will look to keep their momentum going next Saturday when they visit the Greensboro College Invitational.
